Testing Your Setup

After flashing the driver, it's important to test your setup to ensure everything is working correctly.

Steps​

  1. Plug your mouse into the USB Host Shield.

  2. Observe the behavior:

    • Your mouse should now move on the screen through the Leonardo.
    • You should see the light blinking on the Leonardo as you move the mouse.

  3. Test the mouse buttons:

    • Check if the left click is working.
    • Check if the right click is working.

At this stage, the scroll wheel and side mouse buttons will not work. This is normal.

Troubleshooting​

If your mouse isn't working as expected:

  • Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Try unplugging and replugging the USB cable.
  • Double-check that you selected the correct board and port in the Arduino IDE.
