Soldering the USB Host Shield

The first step in setting up your Candy Bot is to solder the USB Host Shield.

Required Materials​

  • USB Host Shield
  • Soldering iron
  • Solder

Steps​

  1. Identify the 3.3V and 5V pins on the USB Host Shield.
  2. Solder these pins as highlighted in the image below.

Make sure the highlighted parts on the left are not soldered. Only solder the 3.3V and 5V pins as shown in the image.

In some cases, these joints might already come pre-soldered. If so, you can skip this step.

Once you've completed the soldering, you're ready to move on to Connecting the Hardware.
